The TomTom Go 820 and Go 825 were introduced in July 2011 and offer all the usual TomTom services found on the top end TomTom Go range, including voice navigation, lane guidance, and rich maps. These models are designed to be a value version of the flagship TomTom Go 1000 Live range. The TomTom 825 offers the same fuctionality as the TomTom 820 but has an extra large 5″XXL screen.

The TomTom Go 820 and 825 Live models are compatible with TomTom Live services and come with 12 months subscription included for free (optionally around £45 a year after that).

  A: The TomTom 825 was released in June 2011. The TomTom 825 was released in July of the same year.  
     
  Q: What's different between the TomTom Go 820/825 and the TomTom Go 1000/1005?  
  A: The TomTom Go 820/825 does not have the 'fluid' touchscreen. The TomTom Go 820/825 is therefore more similar to the TomTom VIA 125 than the TomTom Go 1000.  
     
  Q: Can I add additonal maps to the TomTom 820, 825, 1000 or 1005 (e.g. USA or Canada maps)?  
  A: Yes, you can download maps via TomTom.com.  
     
  Q: Who is the TomTom Go 820 or 825 Live Suitable for?  
  A: The TomTom Go 820 and 825 models would most suit the driver who wants the latest technology with all the latest GPS functionality available, such as bluetooth connection with their mobile phone, several routing options, and live services including live HD traffic information. If a fluid touchscreen is desirable, then they'd be better off paying a bt extra for the TomTom 1000 or 1005 Live model.
